BITTERSON is two things...a band and an attitude. Sometimes classic, sometimes modern, Bitterson's sound is a reflection of rock's raw emotion being chiseled out of yester-year's boy awoken by change to a modern-day man.

40 Minute Detour (FMD), an Alternative Rock band, has a sound influenced by bands such as Stone Temple Pilots, Soundgarden, Foo Fighters, Alice In Chains and some earlier groups like The Beatles, Hendrix and Led Zeppelin. They play a careful mix of covers and originals and are adept at adapting to live situations after cutting their teeth in the midwest regional scene.

Live Music: She Swings, She Sways; In Your Honor..
She Swings, She Sways released a self-titled EP in the winter of 2005, which was quickly snatched up by audiences across the Midwest. July 2008 marks the release of their first full-length record, Wasted Love Songs, which was recorded only a block from the band’s home and will be put out by Authentic Records of Des Moines. “Wasted Love Songs,” is truly a full-band effort; with each member contributing their own story of wasted love, or getting wasted due to unrequited love, depending on whom you ask. When the band is asked what "style" of music that they play, a common answer is "Midwestern" music. She Swings, She Sways’ range of influences is wide, combining rocking two-beat stomp, soulful lovelorn lyrics, and lilting pop melodies. Also performing in the RME Performance Hall for this all ages show is In Your Honor, eXistent, and Everly.

Redstone Room- Brother Trucker w/Dave Moore
Brother Trucker’s tales from nowhere carry weight. Good songwriters have an eye for detail but use nuance to tell a deeper, bigger story. Andy Fleming, singer-songwriter-guitarist for the veteran Des Moines roots-rock band Brother Trucker, is one of those writers. His band’s long-awaited fourth album, “The Flyover,” includes 12 gripping tales of the homeless, the forgotten, the loveless, the widowed, the refugee, the dysfunctional, the marginalized and the borderline criminal. Each one has an ounce of truth. Each one speaks to the kindness and cruelty of humanity. “These characters have been with me for all our albums, but on this one I wanted to have them relate,” said Fleming. “They’re people of the Midwest — either characters I’ve met through gigging, or work or through conversations anywhere.”
