RME to Participate in Birdies for Charity
The RME is excited to be participating in this year's Birdies for Charity! Birdies for Charity, a program in conjunction with the John Deere Classic, helps your favorite nonprofit organization raise money through donations and pledges.
HOW IT WORKS: Charitable organizations such as the RME receive flat cash donations or pledges of one cent or more for every birdie that is made during the John Deere Classic. Pledge forms can be picked directly from the RME or they can be downloaded here from the Birdies for Charity website. When the tournament is over, you will be mailed a notice of the pledge amount due. Once the RME receives your pledge, we will use your generous donation to help fund our many live performances and music education programs!
WHY IT'S AWESOME: The RME gets to keep 100% of every penny that is pledged to us! In addition, the John Deere Fund will provide a 5% bonus on the total amount pledged. Birdies for Charity also provides some cool incentives for those donors who particpate. Each person who makes a pledge has the chance to guess how many birdies will be made during the John Deere Classic. The lucky donor who guesses the correct number will win a 2009 Chevy Malibu Hybrid. In addition, donors are eligible to win John Deere mowers, tickets to any AirTran Destination, and over 500 other great prizes. Your donation is also tax deductible.
EVENT INFO:The John Deere Classic runs from July 6-12, with all pledge forms due to the tournament office by July 10. The RME has set a goal of $5,000 for this year's event, and with your generosity, we can make it happen and provide more musical programming for the Quad Cities!

RME Turns Five, Reflects on Past & Future
The RME had it's 5th Anniversary this past Friday, June 12th, and the community as well as ourselves, took some time to reflect on how we got to where we are now, and where we are going.

RME Receives Rare Piano for Museum Gallery
The RME is now the proud owner of a 113 year old double grand piano, believed to be one of the only remaining ones after WWII. The 1896 Pleyel was brought to us by gift of an anonymous donor.
To read a history on the piano and view pictures, check out the article in The Dispatch at qconline.com by Jonathan Turner.
The public may come view the piano during regular museum hours at the RME, from 10am - 9pm, Monday - Saturday.
